Race to Change in Saudi Arabia

The full GTV team on the evening of the first Formula E race in Saudi Arabia, working on the 1 hour documentary "Race to Change" for Discovery Channel and Eurosports. Note our partner Maria in the back row next to producer Fritzi: Both have their hair uncovered - which was the brand new style in Riyadh in the fall of 2018, after decades of state ordered coverage for ladies.

Another first connected to this extraordinary event was Saudi Arabia's first western style music festival where male and female festival goers were allowed to mingle in the audience. The festival went ahead two days before the Formula E race, on premises adjacent to the race track. It drew huge crowds and was a massive success.
